Baileys No.21 Ease & Excel

Picture

Baileys No.21 Ease & Excel is an innovative low starch feed designed to help provide a fully balanced diet, with appropriate levels of slow release energy to promote condition and support performance.
Suitable for horses prone to gastric ulcers.
Low Starch 8%
Contains no micronised cereal flakes so its Digestible Energy (DE) content of 13MJ/Kg is delivered by fibre and oil.
Low Sugar 6%
The carefully selected blend of energy sources and other ingredients keeps sugar content to a minimum.
Quality Protein 13%
Quality protein, supplying good levels of essential amino acids, is important for the development of strong healthy muscles and in supporting the tissue repair and recovery that is ongoing in the working equine athlete.  With correct work, a Baileys-fed horse will always stand out with a rounded top line and musculature which is achievable without the need for expensive amino acid supplementation.
High Fibre 18%
Contains soya hulls, beet pulp and alfalfa, all rich sources of superfibres, which are more digestible than “traditional” fibre (cellulose), yielding greater amounts of slow release energy.  Fibre is also provided by oatfeed, a highly beneficial by-product of the oat-milling industry, which is particularly palatable and remarkably low in starch.
High Oil 10.5%
Contains Baileys Outshine high oil supplement which supplies a blend of oils from soya and linseed for slow release energy.  Oil has also been shown to have a glycogen-sparing effect which helps improve stamina, while the balance of Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids supplied by Outshine is designed to help avoid an imbalance in the body.
Protexin In-Feed Formula
This bespoke blend of natural antacids, pre and probiotics brings specific benefits to help support a healthy gut.

BETA Feed Mark for equines prone to EGUS
In consultation with the Veterinary Medicines Directorate, BETA have developed an      approval scheme to help horse owners identify feeds, by way of their composition, that
are suitable for horses and ponies prone to or at risk from equine gastric ulcer
syndrome (EGUS). The approval mark may only be used on feeds approved under
the scheme and this must be renewed annually.

Feeds bearing the mark do not cure or treat gastric ulcers. If you suspect that your
horse has ulcers please contact your vet.

Compulsory Criteria for Approved Feeds
Feeds recognised under the approval scheme must result in less than 1g of starch & sugar per kg of bodyweight per meal and ideally provide less than 2g of starch and sugar combined per kg of bodyweight per day when fed at the recommended levels. These levels have been determined based on a review of associated risk factors for EGUS.

Feeds marketed as low to medium energy (typically less than 12MJ/kg DE) should contain less than 20% starch and sugar combined (on an as fed basis), whereas feeds marketed as high energy (typically 12MJ/kg DE or greater) should contain less than 25% starch and sugar combined (on an as fed basis).
Feeding Recommendations
Ease & Excel is designed to be fed at a slightly lower rate (0.4kg/100kg bodyweight) than Ease & Excel Cubes, and other condition/performance feeds (0.5kg/100kg bodyweight), to allow for the fact that horses prone to gastric ulcers may also have limited appetites.  Refer to our chart for recommended feeding rates, per day, in pounds, kilos and Stubbs scoops

*Scoop refers to a typical Stubbs round bowl.
(scoop holds 1.8kg of No.21.
